 In Spring 1780, Giovanni Galli, peasant and globetrotter left these fields in the flat of Fosci going on foot towards Livorno harbour.He embarked for America as ship-boy on the brigantine S. Anna and he gave no more news. In this old house, his young wife named Settimia, sure of the promise made by her husband Giovanni, kept waiting on the door the passage of the horse mail-coach with the hope to get a letter until she was old.  They say that here in the "piana di Fosci", in the cold winter nights, very closed to the fireplace you can even hear the sweet sound of a lullaby.It is the spirit of the sweet bride Settimia who sings a lullaby to the child that Giovanni never gave to her. Nowadays, 200 years later, this House opens its rooms, with the warmth of its traditional Tuscan fireplace, to all those who need a refreshment and a rest in a very cosy environment.
